    Some of these might help. A mate made his own from some rubber/belting and they seem to work ok.

    Finally got round to a few jobs over the weekend. Took the rear passenger door cards off, pulled away the rubber wiring grommet and found and repaired the break in the wires so that the central locking worked again.
    Also took the door card off the back door and cleaned up the lock so that it locked/unlocked again.
    And then fitted my new dash cam. This came with a rear camera, which I put in the passenger side rear 1/4 window, looking through the rear ladder! Ran the connecting wiring behind the trim over the roof gutter, under the Alpine window and then behind the A pillar trim. I've put the front facing camera down in the bottom left of the screen, powered from a USB port under the 'oh ****' bar!

    Defender fuel door.

    I just fitted my new fuel door to my 110.
    Im really happy with its fit and function, but the Button head bolts are made of cheese.

    Puma Pod

    Finished installing my Mud Puma Pod, and wiring the Redarc gauges.
    Ignore the red gauge, I’ve yet to plumb the EGT probe.

    Gwyn Lewis Front Double Cardin Prop Shaft and IRB Developements Bonnet struts

    I just purchased the Gwyn Lewis DC Front prop shaft, and IRB Developments
    UK brilliant bonnet struts.

    $1100 for the DC prop shaft delivered to me in Tassie, and $240 for the bonnet kit delivered.

    Christmas Project.

    It’s going to be a big remainder of December for my Defender 110;


    All these parts have just been purchased and are on their way. Vehicle is booked in on 30 Dec 19 to have most done at ARB Spreyton (Devonport), with the rest being completed by Justin Cooper near Hobart, or myself.


    I’m just a bit excited.

    Superior Engineering Radius Arms

    Jeez I’m impressed with the service from Gwyn Lewis.

    The Mother of all Double Cardin front prop shafts has arrived including a big tube of grease, and the braided brake lines, extended bump stops, and steering rod ends etc.

    Im just waiting for the other two boxes to arrive and I’m going to start installing stuff tomorrow.

    I had a hiccup with the supply of the Terrafirma camber corrected radius arms, so ended up purchasing a set of Superior Engineering radius arms which are complete with the bushes, it’s a better product all round, so I’m really happy with that.

    Extended Bump Stops

    I fitted the Gwyn Lewis extended bump stops today, and I’ll fit the double Cardin prop shaft tomorrow if I’m up for it.
    I need car ramps badly!

    And that’s the DC Front prop shaft in.

    Gwyn Lewis front Double Cardin prop shaft now in.
    The OEM prop shaft came away easily which made things simple.
    Ignore the photo of the prop shaft institute, It’s backwards but it’s in properly now!
    New brake pads, extended braided lines and the EGT probe next.👍

    Wow, I’m impressed;


    I just took the Defender for a test drive after fitting the new prop shaft and virtually all vibration in the steering has ceased up to 90KPH.


    Only slight vibration at 100KPH and the vehicle is fitted with heavy MT tyres.


    I realise that a worn prop shaft can cause vibration under the vehicle, but I honestly think that the behind the steering wheel experience is smoother.


    I’m changing out all the worn track rod ends and installing flash Sumo stainless steering gear and Range Rover straight arm to replace the drop arm in place of all the original gear.


    After the suspension is fitted, all camber corrected (even flasher Superior Engineering radius arms) and aligned, I’m expecting a very comfortable Defender to drive at road speeds!


    I’m off to order a new Gwyn Lewis rear prop shaft!
