Thread: Central Locking Issues.....

I'm going to do this job myself but I just wanted check a few things first do I need to disconnect the battery,and in taking the door panel off I couldn't seem to locate any screws or are they on clips and a little perswstion required....

Also will the break be something that can be seen with the eye or do I need to get some sort of electrical tester....?

I didn't bother disconnecting the battery as you can disconnect the wire in the B pillar or at worse pull the fuse under the drivers seat for the central locking.

The door is held on by clips be gentle as they will break off the door card, I glued mine back on with some epoxy. The window winder is the fun bit as you will need to lever off a clip that holds the winder on, just don't let it go flying off. I did reset my winders so they were facing downwards when the window was closed so that they didn't fall down when on corrugated roads anymore.

When you disconnect both ends you may want to check it with a meter, you may be able to see it with you eye but it will depend on the problem.
