May I ask how much this cost you?
Fitted replacement switch to the County, and then replaced the fuse that was apparently a casualty of the switch failure. All seems to be working now.
But it is so long since I have had the steering column shroud apart that I had forgotten what a pain it is! And also forgotten that you have to get the top bit in position first.

Finally got around to buying and fitting a new radiator in the old girl. The last one I fitted was back in late 2001 when I rebuilt the motor onto a 4L cross-bolted block. This was started 3 weeks ago, had some issues with stripped bolts on the thermostat housing, then getting it to seal again as the recess for the thermostat to sit in was corroded and the thermostat kept falling out.
Sealed it all up the other day after a major leak from the thermostat housing and ran it up to temp and.... no leaks!
Took it for a run last night and it is running sweet.
it's a special kind of satisfaction you get from conquering an old cooling system in a Land Rover

Washed it (yes, don't look shocked!), fitted new wiper rubbers (I'm sure it will rain some time), and new seal on the fuel tank cap.

New wiper blades too! (85000km not bad). Didn't wash it though! Adventure today: picked up some mulch and firewood in the trailer. flawless performance all day. enjoyed every minute of the drive. It rained and the wipers worked. Newish Kumho AT tyres are excellent. the dog loves jumping in the back. took him for a run in a paddock. reluctantly parked Defender back in drive-way and unloaded wood. Defender is dreaming of a Mulgo pop top and a real road trip... checked the oil. All good.

Today i fitted a new replacement drivers door card, new inside lock setup (dog ate these), new drivers side door handle (button fell out/off?), new wiper relay, new hazard switch, raptop dash binnacle and mount and new RHS driver side dash end piece, new drivers side seat belt (dog again), new dash edge cover piece, new fuel filter, gave it an oil and filter change. Now dropping the oil out of the diff's, transfer and gear box and hoping to get them refilled before the rain comes!
Pretty good having a working door lock/button again after all these years haha!
Today my TD5 got a new one of these.20180901_122734.jpg
