My daughter's 90 300 tdi. She asked for a front light bar and a rear mounted work light for Christmas.

SupporterThanks for the kind words, I hope you enjoy your "new experience" with your freshly remapped TD5, they are a brilliant motor IMO.
But they can be chalk and cheese at times between tuned and not.

It was purposely fixed to the bumper rather than to the "A" bar.

Just finished fitting a new Rijidij wheel carrier. It was a bit more tricky than I thought due to the long-range tank tucked under the wheel arch and so it was difficult getting the chassis bracket tucked in behind the tank. I removed some of the auxiliary fuel tank bolts and managed to tuck the bracket in behind the chassis. I managed to get two of the 10mm bolts in and tightened them up really well. For the other two bolts I used an 8mm rivnut with high tensile bolts into the chassis and bolted them up from the outside (see photo).
Very impressed with the design and beautifully made. Good Aussie engineering. I’m really happy with the quality and Murray at Rijidij was great to deal with. He always kept me posted with progress.IMG_4265.jpgIMG_4266.jpgIMG_4267.jpg

Did this modification recently. I tried to fix it by putting a tow rope around the wife and attaching the other end to the step and putting the Defender into reverse. The Defender refused to budgeAh well back to the drawing board

After a 3 month wait I finally got my new DRIFTA drawers. I spent yesterday fitting them into the Defer and also fitted the Thumper battery and the Intervolt battery management system.

Drove it for the first time after changing the maf sensor, no surging, power comes on smooth, much nicer car to drive. I don’t think it’s ever worked while I’ve owned it so never knew the difference.
2000 td5 - R380, LT230 and Diff fluids replaced with Motul Gear 300 ... will be interesting to see how that goes. New brake master, bleed all round, new brake pads.
1997 300tdi - Engine oils, all filters, lube. It will get the Motul treatment at its next service when it hits 400,000kms.
Heres to trouble free motoring for the next little while ... fingers crossed, touch wood etc.
