My wife got a call from the dealer that the car is ready to pick up......cost $180
Will probably catch a coach to Morwell Monday to pick it up and find out what was the fix.
Cheers Paul

Good result Paul. And relatively painless.
I’d suggest you use this experience to justify the correct tool for the job... GAP IID
If you had needed to pay the Flatbed you’d already have spent over 50% of the price of the tool.
I’m guessing the alarm module and the fob fell out of sync (hence the warnings in the handbook people!). It doesn’t always happen but as you can see it can![]()
lets drop the rose coloured glasses on this, it fell out of sync because its another example of JLR using a cheap bit of crap to replace something that was working just fine on earlier Defender models.
The procedure mentioned is listed in numerous vehicle manuals and is a known method to drain any residual charge left in the system.

Car is now home and behaving as it should
Dealer checked for Dtc's in the system(whatever they are)...non found, they obtained EKA code that I now have, and reprogrammed immobiliser and key remotes.
they said it's a problem they had not come across before from battery change over, personally I think it may have something to do with the vehicle sitting for an extended period with flat battery. But next time I change or disconnect a battery I will drain residue current (lesson learnt)
They are going to seek out EKA code for my 130 when I email them vin number.
So all said and done I had a very positive experience from Gippsland Land Rover
Thanks everyone for input
Cheers Paul
