110 isuzu county, 130 front springs, new 130 puma defender rear springs, with the inner helpers removed when not loaded for touring, DeCarbon shocks all round, front sway bar fitted from d1, rear sway bar left in place. Handles like a puma 110. Vrry happy.
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
It took me some trial and error to get the my 130 riding the way I like it.
My 1998 300Tdi 130 weighs in nearly 3T in normal everyday driving mode (steel bullbar, winch with synthetic rope, 1 x 900CCA lead acid battery for starting/winching, 2 x 120AMP AGM batteries for the 80 litre Waeco, 110 litres water, 120 diesel plus full tool box, spares, HWS, on board air, roof rack etc.... . And loaded to 3.5T when heading bush (RRT, second spare wheel and tyre, 60 litres extra fuel, food, clothes, camping gear, gen-set)
For springs I have Dobinsons with 2" overall lift (19mm coil).
For shocks I have the huge Koni Raids. These transform the ride - loaded or empty.
Plus poly air bags in the rear.
I tried Bilsteins previously (even double on the rear) but they could not cope with the rebound and I had one of the fronts blow a seal. Shock was under warranty but supplier refused to honour this as they believed the shock was over heated. (Not sure how - I was not happy)
It's well worth saving up for the Koni's. At $500 a corner they are not cheap, but for me they are well suited to a 130. They are also rebuildable.
The only fault I can pick with the Polyairs is that the metal collar that holds the air line to the top of the air bag (that is supplied in the kit) is made from mild steel and rusts out, allowing the bag to loose pressure. I replaced these with a stainless steel crimp band from Enzed hose supplies.

How many turns adjustment on the raids did you set?
Hi Strangy
From memory all shocks were up to hardest setting, then fronts were backed off two full turns and the rears backed off 1 full turns.
Truck drives nice on road, to Birdsville or around Moreton Island.

When setting up my 08 Puma 130 to take the Trayon Camper I got my Landy guys to put in King Springs with dual Bilstein shocks and Airman airbags. This setup has been across the Simpson a couple of times as well as many other trips where it has performed superbly.
Even on really rough going it totally takes out the yo yoing and on the highway makes for much more positive cornering and handling. I run the bags at around 25-30psi and have a twin cylinder air compressor on board for adjustment as and when required.

My Td5 130 weighs in at close to 3.5 tonne and as it is a camper, that's its weight all of the time. Fronts are standard but on the rear I now have King springs + 50 mm + 500 kg's with Koni Raid 90's.
Happy with this set up so far as its lost the wallow it used to have.
