Suspension Upgrades What have People Got?

I'm currently looking around for some new coils for a 130 TD5 defender.

It's been setup for touring so bullbar, winch, aux chassis tanks, 2x aux AGM batteries, full length roof rack, rear draws, water tank 100+L, rear wheel carrier, etc

Noticed it's started to sag on the left hand side so looking at some heavier duty springs and maybe shocks (if the price is right).

I'm waiting to hear back about some King Springs and have also looked into Old Man Emu from ARB but was wondering what's everyone's experience with different brands and types?

We recently did the suspension on a heavily laden 300 tdi 110 wagon and found that the bilstein shocks couldn’t cope they ended up in the cupboard
If you want a set of rears I have them spare and they only did 2000 ks

Koni Raid 90 series solved the issues so this is the way I would go

Agree with that 100% I love my new Koni Raid's. I still run bilstein fronts including steering damper.

X 3 for Koni Raids. Bilsteins are excellent IME, but the big bore Konis are better, especially for big load carrying and long days on corrugations. Stick with Land Rover springs standard height HD.

Thanks for the advice guy's. I have Koni shocks already but I'm unsure what type they are or age but seem to function perfectly fine for me hence if they were cheap enough might consider upgrading with the springs. I think I will stick with the shocks I have then and upgrade later if they get too sloppy since they seem to be the way to go

Looking into standard Defender springs it seems with the rear I can get a inner helper spring for HD application (mine currently has just one) I'm guessing this setup is what you guy's mean by HD standards.

In the front however I can only see HD aftermarket springs for the 130 (Terrafirma I believe they are). Do you think the standard 130 springs are the way to go or upgrade to heavier duty?

Looking into standard Defender springs it seems with the rear I can get a inner helper spring for HD application (mine currently has just one) I'm guessing this setup is what you guy's mean by HD standards. In the front however I can only see HD aftermarket springs for the 130 (Terrafirma I believe they are). Do you think the standard 130 springs are the way to go or upgrade to heavier duty?

I have been scratching my head around this for a while and finally decided to stick with stock height springs (HD front + Stock with airbag rear) with upgraded shocks. This combo will afford me a lot of flexibility I think without compromising ride and handling.

PS:If your existing Koni's are fat then they are most likely Raid's and can be services if needed.

    cheers
