From memory they are just there to support/hold the assembly in place while you bolt everything up....I have them feedback that they need the be beefier.

they are what they use as retainers. they are way too flimsy though. Basically had I followed the instructions, it would be those two clips that hold the top mount into the spring housing. They bend when it is supporting the bag.

The top mount had two 6mm holes pre drilled, so I drilled up into the top coil seat and put in two stainless m6 bolts, You can see them in the other pics.

The mounts are actually very well made and fit exactly into the coil seat. They will actually hold themselves in, the tolerance is that close.

I had thought, I'd seen a picture somewhere of someone drilling up into the top coil seat. But it wasn't in the instructions and they didn't supply the fixings.

Other than that, and the way they had the lower bolts attached, it was a good kit. They even install the split crinkle tubing on the air line.

So when you do a wheel alignment, what would be the height setting? Stock height for High way driving?

    Cheers

I’m not sure anybody does anything different when they fit a 2” spring lift to a defer....

    Nothing to change for alignment.
The logical setting for highway is factory height.
With bags all round you could set lower than factory a la RR.

The other controllers in my list will offer a range of features that you may find adequate for your needs. AirBagMan does a basic controller set up (essentially a switch to open the valves)
Any thoughts on where you would mount this compressor/ tank?
Have you found any resources with reviews from people using either of these on a Defer??

With the airbag man kit they mention an operating range for the bags...for the +2” I needed to fit new springs to the front so the car sat level......although for hooning down the hi-way sitting lower on all four corners should be OK.

There is no real need for a large tank.....I get by just fine with the tank that comes with a twin ARB compressor....and wouldn’t upgrade it when I convert the front to bags.

I’m lucky as I have a Hard Top that has storage bins either side.

Maybe under the rear seats on a 110 wagon for the receiver, compressor can get noisy in the cab.

Oh, I’m not really keen on the ACCU bolt together pressure vessel.

the AB man kit is 0-50mm, it has in the instructions an operating height of the spring between 23-29cm I think from memory. Mine is sitting midway between the two at 40psi. That levels me up. I think I probably have 40mm of lift in the front.

To the underside of my stock guards, I am 920mm on 255/85r16 tyres. If that helps, but probably not entirely indicative as tyre wear etc...

I did find that with the rear bags with a lower pressure of 34psi which sat me at the lower limit, I did have a bit more body roll. I fixed that by pumping them up and leveling the car out. I'm not entirely sure how it would work for those that are at stock front heights. I think it needs to sit higher than stock height. Which seems to be what I had read elsewhere too.

My system is currently completely manual. I installed the inflation valves just under the fuel filler.
