A couple of people wanted some pics of the Garmin GPS mount. This is the one that should now be installed on the SVX as the other one some owners might have as it wasn't available when they were first brought to Australia. Derek can't help you with wiring pics without pulling the dash out. Something I would be sure to make a complete "bodge job" of I am certain! Hope this helps...

Thanks that means it is hard wired in some how. So I'll have to look at what I can do with a Garmin power cable. Think this might go on the low priority list before the trip though.

dm,you could do it this way,as the sat nav needs a voltage reducer which is in the cigar lighter plug in end.

It's tempting, but I'd rather it was a connector that couldn't rattle loose on rough roads, so I'd be putting n a two pin plug of some kind. I guess the big question is what are the electric's like on the SVX that makes this possible? I assume this varient of the Puma Defender has a slightly different wiring harness

According to my dealer it's no different to how they wired ours in,wrap some foam around the cig lighter as with ours.

can you post info on the hitch safe, for when i get a hitch that is.

At that service price, I should be please the dealer tossed in 3 years free serviceing, but have you looked at the service intervals, damn, I changed my own oil at 5000kms, yesterday.

I too love my SVX, no problems so far.

I will have to push the dealer a little harder to find the key ring. I did receive the history book as you mentioned. But no luggage tag either which would have been nice as I travel a fair bit. But I do really want the key ring.

    Cheers,

    Nigel
Nigel, if you really want one and can't get it, pm me your address and i will send you mine. I am sure it is still up on the key rack somewhere.

P.S. I might have spoken too fast, I think I need to interogate one of the kids. I'll get back to you.

The intervals are only 12,000k........ 10,000k if your living or driving n arduous conditions. if your still working on the 20,000k service that is wrong.
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
