From new the oil usage was about 2L between 4,200km and 4,300km - it also went from clear to black. Topped up, changed oil at 4,500km and again at 10,000km (and filter) and hasn't used any.

It's not just the small diesels the bigger ones will too. Its just something about the new generation of diesel engines.

    Exactly what I saw.

at about the same kms, it changed almost overnight, well over week, from clear to black and lost some volume. But what me worry?

Derek I'm just going on what landrover Australia told me in an email...when we asked them the very question.

5000 is very much a new one for me as our dealer told us 10,000 for arduous conditions it even says it on the service sheet that they showed us...we checked with LRA as we were annoyed at the dealer calling our car in as they were under the assumption we have offroaded the vehicle when we hadn't there for the car was serviced 2000k Early. hence why we got it in writing.
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

It's not a recall but your selling dealer would have been sent out the proper kit FOC from Land Rover.
Get in touch with the Service Dept & have it fitted. It should take less than an hour to do.

I sent Ian a copy of the service schedule last week. 10000km intervals for Australia but the 10000km services (30k, 50k...) are just an oil change, no filter so it might have something to do with the fuel quality out here.

    Cool Yes it's brilliant

Very comfortable indeed, will admit to not getting it dirty yet as I'm still waiting for the bar, ARB, and winch (Warn 9.5xp) to be fitted. On the key chain, no I haven't seen one yet. Does anyone even have a picture of it? I'm still trying to track one down too

    Hi SVX20,

I am real interested (along with a few other SVX owners on here) on how the hell you can get the ARB Bar to fit.
Can I get some more detail such as:
Which ARB dealer is fitting it?
Is it the new shape bar or old shape bar?

I have in writing from ARB that it won't fit. There is one SVX owner on here (Drover from memory) has had the old bar fitted but cut the bar where the driving lights are.

I would prefer to fit the Scorpian Bar but don't think that will fit either without some modification.

I will post up a pic of the SVX Key chain soon.

New style of ARB bar will defiantly not fit on the SVX. Horizontal plate hits the head light surrounds. The old or standard style ARB bar will fit and so will the TJM type 13 bar. Yes the cross bar does run in front of the driving lights on both the ARB and TJM bars. I have the TJM bar and it really doesn’t bother me, maybe one day I’ll modify the bar to suit?
Rover craft winch bar will not fit (I’ve tried), the tips of the bar hit the outboard driving light before the mounting bolts lineup.
Custom made or modify are your only choices.
    Cheers

From what I've been told if you modify an ARB or TJM bar then it is a modified bar, and not recognized by your insurance company as it is no longer the bar that was deigned and passed ADR.

Don’t know about the insurance thing, but it sounds logical. When I was inquiring about an ARB bar about two years ago and I mentioned modifying the bar. Ie removal of the cross bar in front of the driving lights. The guys at Northern 4wd center in Wangarra were less than impressed with the idea. They did say that if I modifying the bar, they would void all warranty and ARB would no longer be responsible. Which I guess is fair enough. As you say the bars are specifically designed and ADR approved.
