That's the one and often referred to as the hidden L Lens. AN excellent lens for the price.

A pair of sandhill cranes in flight in New Mexico's Bosque del Apache Wildlife Reservation. Thousands of them winter there.

My Discovery out on the photo safari in New Mexico. I was getting a lot of use out of my Sigma 800mm lens!

couple of images 'snapped off' today by my wife with her point and shoot, out the passenger window (Lumix FZ200) all I did in Photoshop was straighten the horizon and crop the edges & resize for limited bandwidth.

no way I can get these opportunistic images with my much better camera by the time I pull up and grovel around for my camera and then change lenses the subject is long gone.

believe it or not she also got a Sambar Stag as it crossed the road ahead of us,
did not realise they were in FNQ !!!

Exactly, that is a young one,a lot of golden plumage. The older they get the darker they get.
It is a great shame many are now killed feeding on road kill.

I made a habit of dragging road kill off the road for that reason.
