more than one camera Chucaro shutter releases seem to be betwen 15 and 25,000..people appear to be selling due to not much use or upgrading.....

    Still who knows

I havent heard from Nikon yet but bloody anxious about this big bill coming my way. and I think 150 for the service of my D80 probably nore than the camera is worth now...however even if I saved up and got another body (which would be a bloody while away) I dont think I would get rid of the 80 anyway.

Always handy to have a back up body. It least you've done things the right way around and spent the $$$$ on the glass and not the body

yeah I would love to get more decent glass......but it takes me so long so save because I dont have those sorts of $$$$ and usually when I get half way there something big on the car craps its self...

no word of a lie I saved for the 70-200 three times!!! as soon as I got over 1500bux some thing broke else where

I love the 70-200 the quality of the pictures are/were so nice people often comment on my photos but realistically is not me its the quality of the glass it comes out from.

so interestingly it has been suggested that the issue may actually be with the D80...not the lens.

which I find bizarre as other lenses im sure are OK.

anyway quote I was given was $275 and this includes the service so I cant complain if the issues gets resolved..

I will update when I know more

Ok so picked up my camera today..I havent used it yet, will likely try it out on the weekend.

    $250

the camera had to have the cam gear changed apparently this will affect the setting of aperture, which hopefully will explain my pictures coming out badly exposed...and with any luck the slow shutter.

and the lens did need to be realigned,, so hopefully this will help with the focus and sharpness.

I have to say despite not actually checking the camera ot see if everything works as it should Nikon were a pleasure to deal with!!! nice to know there is still some good customer service lurking around
