We decided on the eezi awn. A big factor was it was available now. The Hannibal may not have been available before our trip in August. If the Hannibal had been available we would have picked it as local and bit better value. I also liked the fly/hood set up for the door and rear window.
Peter from Hannibal was very good to deal with. We did decide on the Hannibal awning.

He came to the Expo a few years ago.
We're very happy with it. Mark made it 6" longer for me as well.

We have an ARB Simpson 2.
Great nights sleep for the missus and I.
I have it mounted on the front of the County and it goes great when camping and offroading, it gives the County good wheelbase weight dispersion and the zip up cover keeps all the dust and wetness out.
Have tried EZ Awn, and they too are a great tent.
Which ever you decide you wont look back, they keep you nice and dry,you are off the ground and no creepy crawlies in the middle of the night.
We have a tent cot and are thinking of mounting it on the roof rack! Don't have the roof rack yet, but am waiting on a hannibal one! Will investigate how hard/easy it is when the roof rack arrives..Found a similar idea on the net

If it does work, it's was a $400 queen size rooftop tent...Good compromise????Will let you know..
Povman.
Well I finally got the roof top tent after such a wait and the worse customer service know to man and overall I'm pretty disappointed. There a few good points and a few very smart ideas but some overall it could be improved a hell of alot. I Dont even think I could leave the bedding in it as its so hard to pack up, hoping it might loosen up over time. Thinking of pulling off the cover already and getting another one made with a little more height. Not really sure that I liked the ''tek'' screws used within the build especially with out any sealant or retaining compound and alloy slides on alloy slides soon turn into very hard slides as ARB found with it tents and changed it ASAP. Matress is overrated for the price and the tent doesn't even have a floor I think as I havn't unpacked all the pieces, couldn't really work out why there should be all these bags of components for a roof top tent? The box it come in was pretty good, maybe I should use it instead? OVERALL 4/10.
Thats disappointing. Sorry to hear that. I am still waiting on my Hannibl to arrive. I stopped stalking them weeks ago, now I'm just waiting on the phone call to say it's arrived.
These tents are not cheap. You must feel gutted to get that service and then that level of product.
I have spoken to the KK people in Caboolture a few times. They are Landy Nuts and we spent ages talking about their round the world travels and Defenders. Perhaps a call to them might get you some better service.

That is terrible news. Having a local supplier is the main reason I wanted a Hannibal tent. The eezi awn tent is now ready to collect so hope to report back about it in a couple of weeks. You should have one bag of 'poles' for the window hoods if it's similar to Hannibal and eezi awn tents. Most roof top tents I found were only half floor for sleeping with the other half for a change room.
