Unless ive looked past it, in this thread there seems to be an unanswered question regarding master cylinder.

What master is best to use? are all defender masters the same?

And will a defender booster fit/work on a RRC?

    Cheers

It was answered. There is no need or benefit to changing the mc out booster.
Fitting a bigger bore mc will reduce braking power.

What makes a huge difference in my RR without any arguments!
Defender 110 callipers front and back
Discovery pedal box 95mode,l brake booster and master cylinder.
    S/S flexible brake hoses.

No need for bigger rear calipers. Removing the rear pressure reducing valve will give you all the rear braking you need.

Brake hoses only change pedal feel. Not stopping force.

I haven't compared the rear calipers defender 110 to RR because mine came with the defender 110 diff assembly.
I'm not sure about stopping force but your right excellent pedal feel if not better than my l322 and the combo I have really works.

I don't like the pedal feel in my 93, it is too hard. Do you think renewing the flexible lines would make the pedal much softer?

No, they'll make the pedal harder, (less swell).

I'd be looking at the booster or a faulty (leaking) vacuum line.
The less vacuum, (from spec) the harder the pedal.

Pad type/compound can make a small difference to feel too. (or a large one in the case of race pads)

By too hard do you mean you've got to push too hard to get the stopping power you need or you'd just like a more progressive pedal?

Do the Defenders have dual brake lines to the front cylinders?

    "a More Progressive Pedal"

"a More Progressive Pedal" That is exactly what I want, thanks for finding the right words for me. It stops well enough without having to be a gorilla on the pedal but it does seem quite harsh compared to most every other car I have driven.
It's got the electrically pressurised brakes so no vacuum problems to look for.
I know it is due for a set of pads soon so perhaps I should try a softer compound?
