    G`day , just had a look at four , 1 LSE and 3 std wheelbase and they are all 2720 GVM

    So i figure it`s a generic number .

    TARE is 1750 for our LSE on the reg label .


    Since P38A can also be 1994 with MA vin like your LSE and i`m prety sure they are are the 3050 GMV already quoted you should be able to wangle those numbers

    I should but on the placard it states 2720, so am stuck with that.

    Still something doesn`t seem right because your numbers say it`s 770 kg heavier than a std LSE

    Had a look at the figures from a 1981 service bulletin for series III isuzu and its 3060 gvm and tare is 1860 and it says the engine is 312


    770kg is not right is it coz your 2520 is not TARE but it should be the 2520 less fluids etc which i would think to be not alot ?

    Plr my tare is 2520, gvm is 2720. Original tare is whatever a lse soft dash is, so all that stuff I listed earlier is adding a fair amount of weight.

    Lovells do a GVM upgrade kit, as do ARB(Old Man Emu).

    Pull the bullbar off, any accessories and pull the axles and centre out of the sals and get it re-weighed.

    Just removing bullbar, 2nd battery, winch (if fitted) and the guts of the sals should get the weight loss you need. Also make sure the washer bottle is empty and the tank almost empty.

    Thats the plan ben. Roof rack is 68kg from memory, front and rear bars, spare wheel, 2 batteries, rear seat if need be, I have to shed 250kg because at the moment I am 150 above gvm (5 passengers luggage etc...), get it signed off then put it all back on again.

    But I would eventually like to get the gvm upgraded so thats why I asked the question, has this been done and what was involved?

    Just so you know from what i have read the kerb for an LSE in the UK is 164kg greater than a std wheelbase .

    If the GVM should also be higher in relation to this ?

    Obviously in AU we use different figures and yes , i guess the plate is all you can go off .

    Not really, because the vehicle is heavier doesn't mean the gvm is greater, unless the suspension and other components are upgraded to suit
