I do have a bit of an idea. Guess what? I own 2 cars which have an LS1 motor in them. A VX Calais with OTR intake and mail order tune with 2 and a half inch exhaust from cat back. And yes it goes very well. Low 12's your dreaming. Mid 13's yes!
To do 12's you will need the gearing done. From 3.08 to at least 3.46 and lsd. Then you will need to raise the stall converter as well. High flow cats and bigger headers are needed as well. Then it needs to be tuned properly. And if you want very low 12s I would say some head work is on the cards with better valve Springs. Because as you are aware they aren't the best at higher revs
So yeah I know a little bit about the LS1. Oh and my other rover is an SD1 with Ls1 conversion and six speed tremec. How's that for no idea?

i dont know what all the fuss is about, i just started this thread because of my admiration for the ls1, i just want to thank gm for being able to produce weapons for the common person,,
