I have also owned an 1984 4dr Rangie 3spAuto 3.5 twin carb which was totally stock, which i bought when i was 16 before i got my licence
Then i bought this one, i have had two fire damaged discovery series ones which i got for parts and i have also had a 79 model 2 door which had quite few mods which i recently sold becasue i needed the money. Wish i still had it, and i'm only just 19 by the way, and that is just the LR's i've had not to mention the 4 toyota's - i get bored, buy a car, work on it and waste money and sell them haha - keeps my of the street haha.
I like the soft dash.
Did you get the trany built up with the 24 packs etc? The weakness of the stock 4HP22 and what yours has done has come up a bit here in the past.
At 19 you seem to have a collection. I can almost imagine what you will have by 50
I see you are in QLD. Make sure you talk to an engineer before you body lift if it has SRS unless you agree prepared to crash test a few. They may allow you to take it out. The LRA body lift is well made and very strong in in impact.
I also believe there is no chance up your way of going over 33's.They are strict here in NSW as well now

Thanks for the pics
Cheers Tony
hi, thanks, I have spoken to a couple of engineers including a guy at the transport dept regarding the bodylift and they say as long as it looks like it is mounted as strong as factory and all SRS related components are lifted in accordance with the body it will be fine and i can get it certified - which isnt a problem with the lra kit as it includes pretensioner extensions etc and the sensor on the front are mounted to the body. There a couple of SRS equiped disco's with normal bodylifts engineered. As for the 33's, well yeah they probs wont be engineered.
