    LMFAO

yep Tony & I go back a long way.

the 9's I've had for a long time had them on my SL for a few years.. they are great. I bought the 18's for a bit of a laugh, because I was heading up to qld and wanted to scope some backroads at night on the trip up.

They performed flawlessly. Tony had the fog covers waiting for me when I got home.

I have one more project though. a set of 55w 4600k sylvania H1 HID globes in a 5.75 Hella parabolic pin beam (aircraft landing light) insert. I have a feeling they will get a lot further down the road than those XGD's. I had a set in my SLC and with normal h1 100w halogens they would throw nearly 1km down the road, the main benefit being the beam was concentrated so there was no scatter to the sides of the road.
So when I find a really nice set of 5.75" housings, I'll give it a try. A set of 4 on the roof would be very menacing indeed, but they will pull a fair bit of current compared to the LED's.

Yes, but you may notice there is a) no room to mount them underneath without exposing them to damage, and b) the covers are swappable / removable.

I had the fog covers on the 18's for a week. then swapped them over to the 9's.
For the moment they are extremely effective as fogs, they have already seen use in heavy fog, as where I live is prone to it nearly every morning.

Have a lot more work to do on the front bar, so everything is temporary, location-wise. I still have a winch to fit and some holes to cut in the bar for DRL's.

Oh, fwiw here is a ****ty underexposed pic I took on the way home last week from the iphone of just the 9's on.... without any headlights. and with the blue covers still on (didn't feel like cleaning bugs)

was still fine-tuning the position. But as you can see, they are OK.

no road straight enough to show overall throw, but believe me, its up there.

Hopefully she was. There's a fair bit of dereliction under the bonnet. Will need new belts for sure, and the fuel tank lock means I won't be getting anything in there until i've fixed it. The tank will be coming out for an empty and check next week - based on my '81 Golf GTi that was stood up for a couple of years before I got it, there was a lot of rust in the bottom that gradually made its way into the fuel filter, which led to an awkward grinding-to-a-half incident on Kingsway one day.

I'm going to start a new thread once I start work on her, and keep that one updated, to save this one getting clogged up!

    THAT would have been awkward.

    Mine.
Isuzu 4bd1, msa 5 speed (sore point at the moment), detroit rear sals, ashcroft atb front, rovertracks axles and cv's, highmount, blah blah blah.

Future plans, fix msa adapter, change transcase to atb 1.222, change msa 5g to a 5r, change intercooler to water to air, full air bag the rear, fit sill tanks, better tyres, respray the body.

Hi Vern - very noice. I like your setup.
I note you have the grab/panic rail in front of the passenger, where I have only an airbag on my 94/5 LSE (plus TD5 and 4HP24 auto).
I thought the softdash was effectively the same as an early D2, so is yours standard in front of the passenger or is this another "mod"?
