I eventually worked out how to do this. For anyone else trying to do this, this photo should help:

The pit inspectors do not know how you will be registering your unregistered or interstate vehicle.
When I took my 110 over the pits (the first time - with no immobiliser) they checked that it was newer than 25 yo before confirming I needed an immobiliser. No mention of concessional rego was made.
The requirement in WA is the immobiliser must self arm within 3 minutes of turning off the ignition - so not sure how that would work on a perentie without a key?

From what I can determine, the Landrover part number for the lock barrel/key set isRTC3022.
Gday I got my Perentie over the WA pits with no key and no immobiliser. Will now put a keyed ignition and / or battery key / fuel pump switch or something to confuse would be thieves. Paul.
Yep - that's the one! Someone must have been too lazy to remove them when it got a respray

My RFSV already had keyed ignition- not sure why but the army must have installed on these models only. I am curious how it works- what creates the pressure on the stop cable when turning ignition on/off?
My Survey has keyed ignition, same key also does all 3 doors
