    Converted a TDV6 into an SDV6, and a TD4 into an SD4

The 2011MY D4 uses an earlier Infotainment system, so not everything is possible like on the later vehicles with the IAM2.1 system.

    However...

    1. Video Playback from USB, I think should be possible, the field is present in the CCF and was available in some markets from new. It's necessary to activate the field in the CCF and then register the "player" with DivX to enable video playback.

    2. Navigation on the move, again a field in the CCF, just a matter of enabling it.

    3. Video in Motion. This might not be possible on the earlier Infotainment system, we did try with a 2011 Jag XF (not the IAM2.1) and it didn't work, a Canbus Filter / Video In Motion module was needed. But for the later cars with IAM2.1 it's certainly possible.

    Great work!

I got a 2014 D4 and would like to retrofit the blind spot monitor, is that possible?

    Hi Cambo,

Any idea if the Video from USB would work on 2010 D4 HSE? I have the iidTool.
What do you mean about the DivX?

    Thanks

I've had no luck getting Nav on the move working via the CCF on my 2010. It shows up as enabled but no cigar. Is the flashing fickle enough to allow that?

I'm also trying to work out if I can play music from my Samsung phone via the USB or an adapter to the ipod connector?

    Then 2010 D4 TDV6 'Jumbo' w traxide DBS

    Stuart,

I couldn't get NOM to work either for the 2010 D4 HSE.
But I did a post about an audio solution a while ago.
The Viseeo Tune2Air WMA1000 is the best available. It plugs into the Land Rover cable that has Apple 30 pin connector and you connect any phone via Bluetooth.
Takes a minute to set up and my experience is it just works. So much so I completely forget it's there. Had to search my inbox to find out what it's called. It will continue playback if you get back in car and it starts where left off and it links the phones song menu to the car screen.
A bit pricey but the best way I've found. Had now about a year and used daily.

Not quite in your league Cambo but upgrading headlights from halogen to xenon has been completed by a couple of us:
    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/l319-disco...l-enroute.html
Physical change of headlight unit plus ccf update.
[Xenon Headlights] - Not Fitted > change to Fitted
[DRL Standard] - Enabled (could already be set depending on MY)

A button on the fob will turn on reverse lights?
    What is Incontrol Apps?

Sure anything is possible, actually some guys over in Europe have done the Blind Spot Monitor retrofit on a Jag XF. So yes it can be done. But gathering the parts at a reasonable price is the tricky part... like all retrofits, it's possible, but not necessarily economically viable. I'd have to look into this for a 2014 D4 specifically...

The 2010 D4 has the older infotainment system. I believe it's possible but i'll have to check that as i've only played with it on the 2013MY onward which is the IAM2.1

DivX is a video format, and it's licensed for use in the later models that have the IAM2.1 infotainment system i.e. they can play .divx video files, as well as the .avi video files with DivX codec.

On a 2010 you need a Canbus Filter I believe, also known as the Video In Motion box. It basically stops the infotainment system from getting the signal that the car is moving over the Canbus.

Yes for sure the TUNE2AIR is the best option for bluetooth streaming if your car already has iPod connectivity via the 30-pin cable. You say not cheap but it's still cheaper than the other alternative which is a completely new phone module for like $650 or so... the Jag guys have been using the TUNE2AIR as well, works very well from what i've seen.

Nice work! I have not needed to make the Halogen to Xenon retrofit myself, luckily my cars have had factory Xenons.

OK so the Follow Me Home Reverse is a different version of turning on the vehicle lights from the remote fob. With it enabled one press of the "light" button turns on the headlights, a 2nd press also turns on the reverse lights. So for example if you want to light up the ground behind the car (say it's parked nose-first against a wall) you can do it with this. It's a bit of a gimmick but it's nice to have.

The Incontrol Apps is a feature on the newer vehicles where you get control over some vehicle functions and get information from the vehicle using your phone. It's constantly evolving and there are different versions depending on the vehicle and the model year. It originally was only possible on the 2013MY onward cars with the IAM2.1 infotainment but it's expanded again with the next-generation infotainment system to more or less give you the screen of your phone, on the screen of the car.

Honestly it's a bit hard to keep up (even I struggle) but some info about it here InControl | InControl Apps

We've been looking at implementing the 1st generation version into the IAM2.1 infotainment, haven't even started on the current generation unit.

It's hard to keep up with technology!

Hey Cambo, just had a look at the CCF using my iiD BT tool and found that [Follow Me Home Reverse] is set to 'Enabled' already.
However, when I press the light button on the fob the only reaction is headlights on and then headlights off with a second press.
Tried a faster "double-click" which made no difference, just headlights on and then off again.

    Thoughts?
