................. Adobe readerDC will not open in IE11 ....................
Be thankful for small mercies.
Adobe's latest reader is a bloody disaster. For some reason the 'brains' at Adobe have decided that a bloody great intrusive side bar and several tool bars are necessary to view a read only file and it is very difficult if not impossible to permanently disable this feature without manually doing so whenever you open a document. It is VERY annoying and displays at best a total lack of understanding by the programmers of Adobe Readers user base or at worst a contempt for the same user base.
The vitriol and incredulity expressed by Adobes own support group over this inept and intrusive programming is quite an interesting read. The good news is that some on this forum have come up with modifications to lines of script which overcome the programs shortcomings.
For me after 'a lifetime' of using Adobe as my default PDF reader I resent having to have to re write Adobes Readers script to make it usable so have given it the flick all together. Currently I am using Firefox as my default PDF reader.
It seems that once a new version of Adobe Reader hits the streets all of the older versions cease to exist. I have tried in vain to find a downloadable copy of Version 10 but to no avail. Version 11 has murdered them all
So if you get a little pop up that advises you there's a new version of Adobe PDF software available in your own best interests say no.
