Thread: D1 5 speed manual gearboxes?

    The front cover plate just holds the seal and IIRC the front bearing cone, you still have to split the maincase to get the input shaft out.

    What suffix is the V8 'box ? (the letter after the model/serial number)

    Suffix 'K' (which should be in the Tdi) is much stronger than the earlier suffix 'J'
