Good tip and I remember doing this with my old hilux, wish I had remembered prior.

I would change the black water container as mine split and cooked my previous motor and the replacement cost $6000.
You will notice two plastic plugs in the top of the radiator and on top of the motor in the cooling system. They are one use only. Twisting them usually twists the head off. There are brass replacements available from Landy dealers which are worth the small change they cost.
I recommend you pull up the carpet under the front seats and see if the floor is rusting around the seat mounts. A bit of rust converter and paint or oil should settle it.
Do you have any rust on the underside of the opera windows at the back up high? Its a common problem. Best to fix it before it spreads.
Your fuel pump can be tweaked to increase pulling power. Its a 5 minute job for anyone who knows what they're doing, such as a Landy specialist.
Enjoy your truck - they're good things.
Thanks. Mine already has the brass plugs. There is some rust, not too bad though, around the top windows which I will get to shortly and will check under the mats soon.

Todays trip to Newcastle I thought it went even better, although the stereo died just before we got home, but a tweak of the pump would be great.

What about the silicone hoses I keep reading about, are they worth it and where is the best place to source them?

Have a look here for silicon hoses

SamcoSport Rest of World - Car Kits
    SFS Performance - Silicone Hoses

There are many others that offer silicone hoses for Tdi Discovery's, they are worth it for the turbo hoses but the rest are just to look good, although they will last a lot longer than rubber hoses.
Worth taking out the intercooler and giving it a good clean out too, they tend to collect oil and can take the edge off the performance.
You didn't mention manual or auto, if auto get it serviced, every single car I ever bought in Australia needed an autobox service.

Just gone back and reread the thread and you say the autobox has just been serviced, make sure the oil is bright cherry red and spotlessly clean, if not, change.
