Oh while I've been pondering the FIP refurb, I didn't want diesel dribbling over my motor and diff, so I put some 1/4" fuel line over the outlet tube that's only an inch long, cable tied it, and ran the tube down to the lowest point on the chassis I could fit it too, and now when the FIP leaks the fuel goes onto the road, not the car.
My mileage has dropped from around 800km per 77litres to around 720 to 750km per 77 litres (or so) so Ive been wondering if I should refurb the FIP or simply find a way to scavenge the leaking fuel back into the tank.
There's not much leaking, maybe a teaspoon every couple of minutes, car has to have the engine running , not moving for say 20 minutes, to have a small fuel puddle and that doesn't happen except occasionally when being worked on.
Any comments from the Guru's??
Cheers all![]()
