I replaced the big O ring between the head and body on a 200 tdi using instructions on the VW site. I think I googled VE pump or somesuch.
Took the pump off to do it. Still no leaks after 6 months and the big O ring only cost ten bucks.

Presumed to be a typo. Most of his other posts are about a '98 300tdi.

    Same problem

Just picked my D1 up from a regular service to be told I have a leaking fuel injector pump!

I am told it is because sulphur is no longer in the fuel? Sulphur acted as a lubricant and now that it's missing the leaks are common place.

I was also told that the forward thinking Qld government subsidised owners to have the affected parts overhauled ..... Come on SA!!

Been quoted a $1000+ for the overhaul!!! And judging by the exploded diagrams it is a job for someone with a lot more experience than me.

The good news is that this one problem aside the Disco is very healthy.

Sorry about neglecting my thread for a bit. I have been away.

It is a Dec94 Tdi now, although before I cooked the head again, it was a 98 tdi (anyone want some parts?).

I have had a look at the no 91 O ring and have replaced it. For a heady half hour I thought perhaps I had fixed it, but after doing some other tidying up it has started dribbling again.

    What now? Expensive injector overhaul?

    Regards, Erik

Sorry about the delay. I bought an overhaul kit and pulled my pump to bits, inserted all the new stuff, put it back together and then cooked my engine AGAIN, before I could try it out. I probably still have the pump somewhere and could let you have it for $200 if you want to take a chance on my expertise. It all went back together fine, but was quite a jigsaw puzzle.

    interested

    Hi,

Im certainly interested in the pump at that, but I don't have the timing belt alignment tool, do you have 1 to sell as well?

Ive bought a FIP refurb kit off the net but the supplier has not sent any instructions on assembly as yet and I cant begin until I have them.

If anyone has a step by step (idiot proof) instructions for the refurb I would greatly appreciate the help.

    Cheers Len
