I used to get 9l/100km but with 2 inch lift and plastic bumper cut down I am lucky to get 12-13L 100km. My vehicle 300TDI automagic.

    Defer drinks diesel

    Hi All

Thanks everyone, I don't feel so bad now about getting 12l /100K in the loaded Defender 300TDi 110 with ARB bar, winch, steel frame flat tray, with a steel canopy that takes four blokes to lift it!

Something to keep in mind with the calculations (which I'm sure many of you are anyway) - if you are going by the odometer for actual k's there could be some discrepancies. My D1 with 235/85's reads 800km travelled on the GPS, with only 705km reading on the odometer. That is a bit more than the approx 5% that the difference in tyre size would suggest. Those of you getting horrible economy based on odometer alone may not be actually doing so bad. BTW 11.0l/100km on the D1 with full roof racks, TJM winch bar and the 235/85's, based on the GPS distance.

That's why I quoted my tyre size, most Defenders running 7.50-16's or 235/85-16's have the speedo and odo about 7-8% optimistic, and they aren't out the exact same % either.

When running 255/85's on most Defenders it pretty much corrects the odo and speedo, at least with new tyres, so 12l/100km IMO is a pretty representative figure for a Deefer.

I forgot to add that I'm happy with my consumption figures as the fuel is turned up to the max too

Thats my 300tdi Auto, roofrack, winchbar, winch, 235/85/16 BFG mt's etc. etc. etc.

    100414 Km's tracked
    15862.13 litres used
    $21,138.30 spent
    over 239 fuel ups

that'd be a pretty good indication from a reasonable amount of data

best ever was 11.0L/100km on 245/75-16 cooper st's in the early days pre mods ... snorkel made things worse
    worst ... about 23.3L/100km
follow the link to look closer at the data

    Disco 300 TDI Economy

Hi All, Happy Easter! Started this post about Economy. I have just been for my first drive in my new second hand Disco1. I have just been through city and Highway driving and have Drummed up just over 700Ks using 60LTRS of Diesel. One thing i have just been reading on here is a difference in Tyre size being a difference in Fuel consumption. Can anybody compare their Diesel consumption with Mine who is running same size Tyres as me Please. 235x70x16. Thanks Disco LOVERS
