My local supercheap and autobahn confidently tell me that Landrovers are unique in that there are no adapters available but they are happy to install it for me for about $100. So I have resorted to ebay.

Is this the wiring adapter that I need for the sony stereo being discussed here?

Once I get the right loom adapter, is there any other wiring work required or is it ready to go?

    thanks

Eddo thats crap, autobarn sell the aepro range of adapter looms so just check the aepro site for the right part number.
When i put my jvc in i emailed aepro and they told me who had the loom in stock.

That loom looks like the right one, no other wiring required.

    Cheers for the info

I have had the Sony Xplod (79 dollar jobby) ... for over a year now, just sitting in the box for my Soft Dash RRC ....

So I bought the Aepro > Sony to ISO ... from Supercheap.
Inserted 4 nails to the side of my original stereo to remove ... Stereo out ... and just as Blknight (Dave) mentioned ... "Pull more wiring loom out" ... I found the ISO end.

    20min later, all fitted

The only problem I had was a dippy 12v main power supply. The stereo kept tripping on & off. I had to run a separate 12v mains power supply feed to the stereo.

No big problem to do, Just a length of Red wire with a Female (Blue) bullet connector and hook into the existing Male bullet connection on the Aepro loom.

    All good now.

The Sony is the non CD type ... USB / AUX / Tuner only .. and sounds better than the original unit. It is an excellent choice IMO.

    Cheers
    Mike

As far as adaptors go, the original stereo is Eurovox I am pretty sure which is the same brand as installed in Commodores of that vintage so maybe look for a Commodore adaptor. The kids at Supercheap and Autobarn might understand your language when you mention Commodore.

Yes the people I spoke to at autobahn and supacheap had no idea at all-it is disturbing to think of how much money and time is wasted by 'advice' like this.

this is the correct adaptor for the Sony head unit

Sony TO ISO Wiring Loom Harness Plug Lead Connector Wire Radio 16 PIN | eBay

Just take the Eurovox adaptor off and replace it with this one.

Goes straight in easy. Great to have all my music available now.
