Yea being a dick and lost it on a gravel road. Went up the embankment and then back down. As it come down the rim hit in a ditch almost rolling the car.
Was a little angry at the time, wont get into details about that.
Took my damaged rim off today.
Put on 2 stocky rims and tyres on the front. Oh man does that look weird.
Got given another second hand 33 inch mud tyre to use until i get some new ones.
Spoke to the local tyre place and he said he will have a go at banging out my dint in the rim. Then change it over for me.
I suspect he will fail and if so i have organised a new rim. Just hoping i can get this one to bang out so it will become my spare in time.

Also took off the main steering arm. That was bent like crazy! Even though i have strengthened it once before.
Jumped on that a few times and got it straightish again.
Time for a new arm. Will fab one up in time when i can afford it and have the spare time.
Noticed while i was under there the front stabilizer bar had lost its bushes and bolt!!
Have to assume it broke during my "accident" but dont really know.
Surprised me to see that missing actually.

Seems to drive ok with it like that as i just found out. Intend to fix that tomorrow.
Atleast i got to do something today........
Visible above the steering dampener to the left top.
Got some new tyres today! I haven't bought new tyres in years always 2nd hand. The old desert duelers were as bald as my head and damn old, the writing on the side looked like it was from the 80s. They came on the wheels which were on an s3 ex military so probably were that old. Bit smaller also the duelers were 33x12 these are 31x10.5 MT. No more guard rubbing and a better turning circle so it was a no brainer. I always felt the fat tyres were letting me down. I had a lot more traction on my A/T stock size. The offset rims look a little weird now they don't have fat tyres but it looks like a land rover should and not like a patrol.
Pretty happy with myself, good excuse to go wheeling![]()
Been having issues from the time i "lost control" of my car lol.
Looked under the back today and noticed this.

Thats the left side rear.
If your not aware that rod end should be pointing down not up! The other side was pointing down.
So loads of tension and twist on the bar.
Clearly when i went offroad i twisted the old girl enough to do that lol.
No wonder it drove like ****.
Another funny thing. I bent my steering arm pretty bad. Straightened that.
Even when everything i can see was fixed my steering was 180 degrees out.
I think i destroyed my steering box to be honest.
I finally got around to moving the power steering reservoir so I could get the second battery mounted, just about managed to get my 86FM battery in the space one thousand one hundred cold cranking amps, just got to wire it as the main battery and I should start under all conditions!
P38 Range Rover , the best car in the world, when it's working
Recently replaced brake pads.
Mint front
Bosch rears
Brakes are by far the best they have ever been. At least 20% improvement.
Thanks to Mario’s recommendations.
