Modified exhaust...now it just has a small straight through centre muffler. End muffler was holed and flexible joint was failing.
Hardly any difference to note and not obvious if any performance change yet.
how do you find the trutracks? been looking at different systems was swayed that way originally because there are no external parts which can fail but now im a bit scared of them after hearing of horror handing on wet tarmac and turning etc. the truetracs are a bit different from normal detroit locker though arent they?

i am just interested in how they drive and what you have noticed. at the moment im more towards the ashcroft side.

    thanks.

TruTrack works fine for me. They're basically like an LSD except they fully lock when traction is lost. No problems with that and the Detroit Locker, just don't drive like a hoon and you'll be fine.

Extremely happy with the truetracs. Never notice them in general driving...once I got used to the slight return to centre effect on the steering.
Great in the bush for the kind of trips I do. Certainly significantly more capable and sure footed than before. They are totally different to the Detroit locker. plenty of threads in here about truetracs if you do a search.

Hi 460cixy, the frame bolted around the radiator was trimmed to allow the larger cooler and had to move the locator pins on this frame about 15mm (that locate on the chassis under frame and either side on radiator/grill body panel).

    Hope this helps.

Tracked down a fluid leak that's been bugging me. After replacing all the oil cooler & power steering hoses, and every engine coolant hose, one of only two original hoses are weeping. It's the shorter rubber hose that runs from the transmission to the bottom of the radiator. Typical. Hopefully I can buy two new hoses for a reasonable sum. Better check the transmission fluid level in the morning when its cold as the Owners Manual says. Bugger.

    Gearbox finally back in

Finally got the gearbox back in. All resealed, high capacity sump on tcase. New oils. took about 6 hours to put in but that included modifications to my wooden gearbox platform on the jack and a few beers and exchanging insults with my mate.

Just trying to get the bush out of the rear prop shaft and exchanging all shaft bolts and nylocs for new ones i have. clutch feels good. gota check manual for freeplay tolerances. then i can get her on the road again. finally.
