Having the headliner out still I tightened up the star head bolts but some Muppet had already been their and some were broken. Got some tension on some they were quite loose.
I'm thinking of sealing around the sunroofs from the inside with some silicone.
Hope its enough to keep the water out I don't wanna take the roof rack off to work on them.
Also got under and tightened the hand brake adjuster hopfully that rattle goes away for a while.

I kid i kid. All damn discos leak. It seems there never happy if they dont.
Not sure it helps you any but i threw a complete sunroof out just today. Its in my trailer out the front and your free to have it if its any help. (will bring it back in if you want it)
Although i suspect your issue is like you said sealer. Also the one i threw out was infact the front one. Not sure if they are different but they dont suit my custom hack.
Let me know if you want it and we can work something out.

If it was me i would do like you said and take the inners out so you can push the top up then seal the top, put it all back together and done.
While your at it redo the roof liner! As i suspect yours is like most and old. I quite enjoyed doing that job. NOT.

Thanks for the offer but I don't think I'm gonna pull it out I'll just have a crack at sealing it. Its been leaking for ages so I silicone the back one shut. The fronts leaking also but not so bad hopfully it just needed a tighten might get a hose on it to have a look.
The headliners been out for like 2 months now I'm actually finnaly getting around to replacing the cloth so I wanna make sure it's not leaking, even if it means silicone it all shut. I have a rack that stops the back from opening and I'm not sure if the front can either, I havnt had the control in to test it.

I ripped a sunroof out of a disco in about 20 minutes in the rain with ripping down the liner. There easy to do mate. No issues with the roof.
All allen keys i think apart from roof rack by memory..... after roof lining is out.
Silicone from the outside would be best In My Humble Opinion.... Others WILL argue.
If i had roof lining out i would just pop the bugger out mate!! Really its simple.

Do it once and do it right man.

I suppose I should at least the front. The back I can't use so I'll just silicone it. But the front I guess is worth fixing proper. Can you get a seal kit for them? Or did you pop yours out and get silicone underneath the old one?

If it was my car i would raise the sunny top, some good old polyurethane stuff and give a good dose. tighten a bit then clean the top and any left over. Tighten the crap out of it later.

Just thought I'd update on how the old girls getting along since I've been here last.
Got the rear rear windows working again, simple solder on a dry joint thanks for the link Mario.
New tyres front and rear 31x10.5 r15 MT comforser on the front victyre on the back. I bought the comforser online I wish I bought 4, the victyre was the only ones the store had but their alright for a spare of the moment buy. But I'm pretty impressed with the comforser, heaps of meat on them.
Flushed the radiator and cooling system because I overheated. Changed viscous fan also havnt had a problem since.
Picked up a bull bar cheap, it's either an old arb or copy. The fronts sagging now so I need to up the front springs. And go pick my winch up one of these days.
Done some other thing but can't remember off the top of my head.
I need to do some work on the steering I'm getting some serious wobbling. They couldn't balance the front wheels properly so I'm gonna start with swapping the wheels around and realign the steering. Hopfully that helps a fair bit. Most of the steering components are fairly new. New track rod, steering damper, radius arm bushes on both ends. Rear sway bar bushes are shagged still that won't be helping the situation.
Still plenty to do!

Yea i got a set of 4 Comforsers for the wifes car. 32s though. And a year later there still looking good.
No issues with them at all. Better than my bighorn maxxis as far as life span.

That's good to hear I read up a little on them nothing bad and the price is just too good. I wonder how they are on really rough terrain hopfully their pretty tough. And I was surprised that their not too loud either, you can hear them when driving against a barrier or similar but on the open road their quiet.
