here is my first ...well actually second disco (I try not to remember my first)

the black one is my 3 and a halftht disco (my 3rd disco with a replaced body)

My 93' 200tdi (the Turtle) and my mate's 91' Rangie (ramjet) doing cape york in 2010.

Land Rovers, Cape York and O Fortuna - YouTube

I "plan" to create some webisodes of the trip and this vid is intended to be a preview. weather I actually get around to it or not is another reality all together.

    Jarrod.

(my first tdi is a perfect example) ...measure 5 times before doing any cut. also use a small grinder or dremel(if avail) when cutting the guards dont gut right through on first line, run cutting disc along your "line to cut" 2 or 3 times before actually having the disc penetrate through to the other side (I found this helped alot with accuracy!)

I have always wondered why they dont just include a template, for the money we pay for those flares.

    hope this helps,

Tools have, work not me scare, has friends which will help.

This is my recent purchase a 1993 2dr 200tdi with OL bullbar, duel batteries with rear power for the fridge and poly airbags in the rear and an Airflow snorkle. It's basically stock but after the dozers demise I had to find a replacement and this is it. In time it will get all the mods the dozer had with 1 difference I will do everything with an engineers approval and there will be NO BODY LIFT unless an engineer suggests it over big spring lift.

yep, cant recommend it more, its cheap if you drive a diesel and it can be done in 3 weeks (4pref)
this year(mid june) we are doing the simpson desert but next year I rekon I will do the cape again.

the first time I did it back in 06 it was alot more difficult, the road into chili beach for example was rutted, wet and muddy (10k per hour stuff) the 2nd run in 2010 ...well, the same road, most of it was tar. great for the locals I guess but still felt a bit sad to see. I urge you to get up there asap, see it while you can in the way it is now.

My V8 auto 96 series 1 after a bit of fun in the mud

2" lift in the rear end (could only afford one pair) if anyone's got any 2" lifted springs they want to get rid of let me know please.

now has 16" alloys off my dads with some big mud tiers.

Mate, best short term fix, put your rears in the front. I've been running STD rears in the front of mine and plus 2" pedders in the rear for about 3 years now and can't complain.
