Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
sorry if i offened bush, ill try use better wording next time.
i have two sets of heavy duty hose clamps holding my springs in but they only last 1 or 2 outings, tried to buy some spring relocation cones but no ones got any at the moment,,,pm stuart on here from rovercraft and he should be able to get something
yeah I don't want relocation cones though.....I want to keep the car as standard looking as possible, I doubt they would be legal would they?
I would hate to get pulled over only to find not really supposed to have them fitted.
I don't know I suppose it would answer my problem but would prefer to just anchor the spring in really.........there bloody noisy too when off road

Having relocation cones in as such isn't illegal. I'm pretty sure the Defender came from the factory with retaining clamps didn't it? What I thought the RTA said (they are now very very vague), and the NCOP does say the suspension must be retained by the original method employed by the manufacturer.

Isn't a relocation cone a bit different to a clamp
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
Yep.
In a standard setup the clamp is superflous anyway as the spring is kept captive by the travel allowed from the shock. As long as that setup exists and it keeps the spring captive, then its irrelevant if you have relocation cones or retainers. It's not illegal to have them, you're just not allowed to change the spring retaining method that the factory used.
