Thread: rear brake pad pins

    rear brake pad pins

    just wondering if anyone knows what the brake pad retainer pins are meant to look like, as mine have some split pins in them don't think this is right. any help would be great.

    Front & rears on my '95 facelift D1 all have split pins in the long retainers.

    what length pins are they as i bought some 50mm ones the other day but they are to short.

    if you know they are to short then why didn't you measure the pin you have in there, or measure the gap

    the old pins were 50mm but the new 50mm ones hand a bigger round end. do u know if the make longer sizes if so were would i get them

    I don't know where you are. but 4Wds in Blackburn Vic has the pin kit for around a fiver in their cat'log. that's the 2 pins and the metal plates for the sides. So any Landy part supplier should stock them,

    When refitting the long pins insert from behind the caliper so it is easy to fit the split pins on the outer end.
    If the brake pipe is in the way, carefully ease it away from the hole alignment
    It won't be much, so it should move ok as there seems to be reasonable amount of flex.
