Thread: Correction bushes

You can be a sissy and use a press , or you can do what real men do.

Drill out the rubber , and probably break a drill bit.
Then hit the bush with a MAP gas torch and burn the sucker out.
Then hacksaw the outer sleeve through until you can peel it back with a cold chisel.

And to replace bushes I'd recommend the sissy route and use a press.

but the best thing to do is fit standard rubber bushes and modify the swivels for castor correction.

that is what i'm planning to do also, gonna try and tackle it in a few weeks, ill take some pics of the process

I have changed the bushes this way before and gee it is a long process.

Didn't bother with drilling the rubber first we just set the whole lot on fire

With a press its easy. I like the easy route

You could probably do it semi sissy using a long thread, a couple of nuts and sockets.

Come to think of it if I had to do it again , I would probably do it that way or of course use a press , if one was handy.

I broke my vice out of the workbench installing the panhard rod bushes and twisting the rod to get a bit more leverage. Poor old Vice. Now I have to figure out how to reinforce the workbench.
