should my rear trailing arms have a bit of a david bowie in them its not extreme just noticed when i was under it yesterday if they sould be stright what have people done to straighten and brace them
Are they both bent the same ?
what Knotty says is spot on..
someone may have cranked them deliberately ,
althought conventional method is to replace them
with HD ones. factory ones are cheese sticks
I sleeved my factory ones..
Sleeving trailing arms?
(pics in the link posted)
And to correct the trailing arm angles from my lift i bought some off-set bushes from LRA, they seem very good
This is the cheap way of fixing them, not shore how strong they are though, but havn't bent them yet
CHEERS TIM.

mine are like this and when I asked I was told they come like this so as far as i'm aware they do not come from factory straight.

Factory arms are straight. Any bend in these becomes a very weak point & can/will result in the arm bending into a U shape when you try & climb a steep rock/step.
When it does this, kiss your rear prop shaft goodbye if you're lucky.
If you're unlucky, you can also destroy your diff housing or A frame.

i think i might make some new ones soon
funnily enough it was you......I'm guessing you dont recall me asking you this about 3 months ago.
I told you both my arms have a slight bend in them, but they were both bent/curved in the same place. your exact words were its supposed to be like that.
I had ian looking at them under the car when I contact you as he wasn't sure whether or not they should be like that....it was when we were changing the bushes that I had noticed it once both trailing arms went back on.
