    2001 D2 TD5 auto 280kms with plenty of fruit - Driver 38yrs old Rating 1, max NCB

TCIS (current insurer) - was $800, just went up to $1300, no change in vehicle or circumstances - WTF !!!

Affinity - Wont cover me due to a Bruce Davis chip - again WTF. I thought these guys were the ants pants of 4wd coverage. How many people have chips in these cars!! A high percentage im tipping.

Looks like im going back to regular insurers with out the 4wd specific coverage.

Not a happy camper as they say

I have just experienced a similar thing - last year I paid $558.00 with TCIS and this year the renewal is $887.03!
I called them and Lisa advised that it's due to a large number of claims on the eastern side. Personally I think that is absolutely ridiculous as the received the premiums and excess payments for all those claims and accepted the risks. What happens in Queensland shouldn't be effecting the risk level in Tasmania which is so far away!

I had the same happen with JustCar Insurance two years ago which is when I moved to TCIS originally.

I may just take third party insurance out on it as the agreed value is already far lower than the vehicles worth.

Are you are actually paying that? Why?

Personally I'd go with just third party. At that price it's like saying they think you've got a 25% chance of writing the vehicle off. After five years you've paid as much as the vehicles valued at!
