If you could fit the bushes rather than the rose joint on the 7100 why is it inconceivable the cross bolt from the shocks you are replacing could not be used through the new bush? I understand it is likely to be molded to the rubber of the previous shock but surely it can be removed. If it was 1/2 in diameter it possibly could be used in the rose joint.
You can and I don't know why people don't either. Some worry that the shock slides on the T-bar.

Thank you! I feel like i'm almost a genius for coming up with such a simple solution. But I thought I had missed something and I was going insane trying to work out what it could have been!

This solution just seemed too obvious.

I have the adapter because I run the rose joints. Still going strong after 8 years of heavy use!!!

Yep. Mine were fine when I changed them for the bushes. I don't know why some have said they are shot in no time?

    Happy Days.

That does make sense. I was trying to think of a way of fitting them without having to either change the shock tower or extend the bump stops. I assume you have done one or the other.

It just seemed to me a simpler job to fit the shocks without having to change anything else. The compressed length of the 10" short body is perfect for the front:
    AK7110SB06
    360/80
    Extended Length: 24.29" 617mm
    Collapsed Length:14.06" 356mm

This should hit the standard bump stop and drop an extra 2 inches or 50mm. Something I had not considered until now is the full compressed length of the spring, this is also important to consider.

In theory it should be possible to run this shock with bushes and a cross bar and maintain more or less the same suspension geometry.

Done neither and tested / cycled without any contact...

By no contact do you mean the bump stops make without bottoming out the shock? What lift do you have? Do you run the 10" short body?

If someone is putting in a order For shocks I would appreciate you letting me know as the freight on the bushes an seals is more then the parts . This isn't going to add to your freight if we can have them included in the box. Any assistance is appreciated. Cheers Matt

Bump plus a margin for compression was factored in.. its tight - very tight - but acceptable, as the hit would likely do other damage to the vehicle...

Yes this was with 10" SBs...

It does pay to check thoroughly though
