I'm pretty sure this would not disable the immobiliser but it must be worth a try.:)

I've been looking at the new empty fob cases on the UK ebay site. 18.50 Uk pounds (inc freight). About $AU26 . Has anyone tried these replacements? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ROVER-75-LAND-...item45f78b9dd7
I'll have a crack at that in the morning, for the moment it's unlocked with my second car parked behind it in the driveway.
Cheers guys, much appreciated
My LR Mech wants $375 for a genuine key programed to my truck. Is there anyone on this forum that has a replacement key for a disco 2? It's only gonna be $65 to re program it. Big difference!!!
Cheers guys
These don't work for the D2. The blade is different. I have also looked at these.
Buy a key from either the USA or UK. Range from $85 - $145 dollars. Then have it programmed ($60).
I bought a key from Britcar-UK. ($135).

Andrew
P.S. I went to a locksmith the other day and they can tell you what frequency your key is (some have frequency readers. The one I went to did). If you don't already know it's either 315 or 433 Mhz
Cheers Andrew
What year is your car again mate?
That will determine which part number you need to order.
I've got some info lying around about which key suits certain models.
Apologies if this is a little off topic from the OP, but can a "dead" key be reprogrammed?
I had two working fobs, but then my alarm started playing silly buggers one day on a carpark and kind of dis-associated itself from the car! Tried new battery and still nothing.
Luckily my spare was working and I wasn't too far from home!
The original one has never worked since.
Can the units like Nanocom be used with the V8 to re-programme existing keys?
(not that I've got a Nanocom of course! :()
Cheers,
Hi Disco Baker,
If the part number you need is CWE 100700KIT I have one here that was incorrect for my car, it was sent over from the UK but was the wrong frequency, I havent got around to sending it back for a refund yet... I ended just buying one from Bruce Davis Performance cause I was in a too.
anyone know if those little metal tabs holding the rubber nibs on the key circuits can be bought??
