Just keep an eye on the drillings for cracks as they wear. A known issue, unless they are chamferred (which can be done post purchase). If they are chamferred as they wear and approach the bottom of the chamfer keep an eye out for cracks.
Thanks geko, I was struggling to see how to post a picture. They do look "special" when new, don't they? Red painted calipers then fools the uninitiated that Brembos have been installed!
Someone said that the Bendix pads make a big difference to brake performance. I agree, thats what I have used then added the slotted and drilled rotors and that made an even bigger improvement. As i said , this combination gives me very good braking performance. Even really sloppy mud does not seem to affect the performance. Any mud that gets in the drilled holes seems to get flung out from the inside for the front and for the rear, I can't say I have seen any mud retained afterwards.
Works for me!!

I'm in the same boat with my D2 99 V8, pads needed all round and front rotors are stuffed, rears could be skimmed but I might just replace them all. First quote was for DBA standard rotors $225, rear $244 pair, Bendix pads $95 front set & same for rear set. Slotted DBA $290 & slotted rear $348. Labour $255.
Is it worth putting slotted rotors on the rear?
Also the amigos appeared today, so I tried the D2 reset but it didn't work :0( I wonder if the 3 amigos are related to the extremely low pads and worn rotors?
have you seen the size of the rear pads??

Hey troopo, when the amigos first appeared my D2 was under warranty and was told it was because they had steam cleaned the car and water must have shorted something out - they cleared the coded. The second time they appeared the car was out of warranty so I paid $75 to the LR dealer to clear the codes. The third time I went back the dealer and complained, they said because I needed my rear brakes done and quoted a huge sum....I went to the local mechanic who had alwaysndone right by me and he replaced them for a fraction of the quote. They didn't go away. I went back to LR and they told me it's because they were not original parts.....and they should be otherwise the ABS etc would not work and I'm at risk....they fitted the original pads and cleared the codes.....they came back within the week.......I then did the smartest things ever and joined the forum and got acquainted with the 3 aimgos which have keep me in good company over many many hours on the black road and few hairy off road trips....but now I've out grown them and envision a life without them......for what ever reason they have chosen you, do your research....this forum is full of good information and heaps of differing opinions but soon you'll see your own opinion forming.
As to the drilled and slotted rear brakes....not sure they make them for the rear....when I was checking the DBA prices they were not listed?
Apparently the gold plated slotted disk will not rust and will always look good behind the silver rims.....and Pedro I love the that cap...but it come any another colour? ;-)

I went to RDA slotted rotors with Bendix pads from a really well priced vendor via an eBay store, Melbourne area. I'm happy with the combo, good braking and little dust on the wheels.
