Try adding 2 stroke oil to ur d2 u will see improvements just tried it in def 90 2.2l added 2 stroke oil engine is alot quieter and u get alot better fuel economy and power increase
This is no bull been using 200:1 mixture for years... Helps lubricate the fuel system My d2 has 265k on it with original fuel pump...
Mercedes is know to use this mixture when testing their diesel cars in remote areas...

Fuel regulator I think...
Like, number 13?
Sorry. The text was wiped by the system - PNG to JPG.
I assume you mean you were back to about same line on fuel gauge?
If so, you can't rely on the fuel gauge being accurate (this is different from being reliable). How do you know that a 1/4 on the gauge is only 1/4 of available fuel? Before you assume you are using "sooooooo much fuel", you need to fill the tank to full a couple of times (say, 2 clicks of the fuel hose), recording your odometer at full and calculating your economy. I also thought the D2 had a 95L fuel tank; the D2a certainly did.
Hi Dutchy65,
Decided to fix the fuel pressure regulator instead of replacing.
Bought a set of o rings of ebay (about $10) and spent another 1-2 hours removing, fixing and replacing the unit. Pretty easy job .. saved a S#@T load of money to spend on the next fault ... :-)
Thanks Mundy for the response.
Yes I did mean fuel gauge.
I filled up again tonight. ( BP this time) and the gauge was at one bar from bottom and I only got 52 ltrs in so I'm pretty confident its only a 65 ltr tank.
I have a CD manual it arrived today I haven't had a chance to load it and see the specs for the tank yet.
I ran the trip/odometer and when I got to the servo it was at 421kms so I used +- 52 Lts for 420 kms.
So my calculations say 12.38ltrs to the 100.
Well its using more than I would like but in heinsite its not " soooooo much " after all.
Still I would like to find some ways to bring the economy up.![]()
Hi mate,
i have a 2002 D2 and I it definitely has a a 95L tank. The car will generally get at least 900k on a tank of mostly country driving. The car is sock standard.
