I did look, but, mmmm, its getting hard to decide what i want to do... my wife and i have a plan in lace to get into a d3/4 in a few years without finance, so really its a matter of weighing it up, do we get back into a D2 and or just keep the GU and just hang on, or do we take the plunge back to the D2...
Ok, new plan, give me your thoughts. Thinking sell the Gu and wait untill a D3 come up with low k's .. I know the D3 is a whole mother beast but ?
Oh dear, I'm thinking of defecting, can never fit all my stuff in the 90
I have no history with land rovers as I only have just bought one but having had the Patrol with the works I fully understand the whole truck concept. I love what the Patrol could do in the bush but hated driving it around town. That being said the only thing that allowed me to make the jump was the reliability improvements with the D3 this still is to be seen but I hope it's true as I intend to spend in excess of 10k modding it up, ohh that and as soon as I stepped in the D3 I knew it was for me it drives beautifully and is just a nice place to be ( my wife knows there may be some nights that I sleep with my car, my true love!)
I would buy another, have a 2000 TD5 ace air suspension, auto., BD chip.
Various minor issues, airbags, abs sensor, fuel pressure reg., radiator soon, need to clean connectors and earths regularly. Up to 280k km now. Replaced auto once ($2600).
TD5 has various funny engine vibrations built in, which the V8 lacks.
Probably the last of the owner serviceable Discos.
Diesel is good for touring, I get an easy 1000k from std tank. TD5 fuel cost savings seem to go on auto trans replacements. V8's don't seem to have the TD5 auto issues.
Won't be going D3 or D4, This D2 owes me nothing.
Cheers,
Terry
