Is that out of the Disco ? badly rusted for its age, obviously your car doesnt leak oil otherwise there would be no rust.

    Yep. D2.
And it does leak oil, just at the wrong place!
It's not the first shaft the cars had, and I hardly ever turn the aircon on and it doesn't do much wading. Time for a clean up and rebuild.

I'd checked it not too long ago (i.e 1000km) and it was fairly dry but not like this
As you say Scott, I've frequently got the music on but I only noticed it chirping yesterday. I'm fairly confident it wasn't chirping previously as I don't have the music on all the time and you could hear this above the music
Only issue was I noticed it about 50k from home, so it was a pretty sedate drive home

Whoa! That was hanging on by the skin of it's teeth!

Would have made a nice mess if that had gone. I'd buy two Lotto tickets if I were you.

    Or a Commodore (pleeeeease!)

    Not a chance
Rather messy it would have been.

I reckon you have used up your luck for a while yet

Look at this way - if you hadn't picked it you would be looking at 5-6000 in repairs, recovery costs, etc and your trip next week would have been a write off. You've averted that and that in itself has got to be a big win.
