    EGR removed

Removed the EGR the other day. I just can't believe the extra power and zoom my td5 now has. It is like a new car.

    Good work

Well done how clean was the inside of inlet manifold and
intercooler pipe lots of free power if you can clean them
engine will get a cooler charge did you clean MAP/IAT sensor
on manifold it can effect running if its black covered in oily
    soot

    EGR

To be honest, I didn't remove it my, Hunter and Cuthill did the job.
I was afraid of breaking the bolts on the manifold, which is , what happened when they put a spanner on it but they had the tools to get in there and drill it out.
I asked about oil and they told me that it was all good.
We will see next week when I put the new radiator in that I have just bought from Mario at Roverlord.
I did pull the sensor on the inlet manifold and it was not bad at all.

    Great to hear that mate...
If you want to get even better results remove the cat and get a high flow muffler installed. You will be surprised at the difference.
My auto used to be dangerous when trying to jump in traffic.
Now you put the foot down an know you won't be a hazard.

I'm thinking if I removed egr + centre muffler I might see some increase of power on my 2004 td5? Has anyone who has done both confirm that it is worth the effort?

    Do it Benny,

I cant vouch for the exhaust but I certainly can for the EGR removal.

It only cost the EGR blanking plate, its a small cap on the Exhaust Manifold.

    $22 bucks from the UK.

You can keep the EGR modulator just disconnect the Vacuum and block the bottom of it with a good solid rubber bung and rescue tape.

And a good clean up of other bits as stated above.

I have done those, plus the down pipe. Not only does it drive nicer, but sounds great too!

How much did the down pipe cost?
