That's a good idea Steve but the D2 output flange is different.

Hi Keato58 at least its a reasonable spot in Daley Waters.

Unfortunately the shafts are not cheap but Id give a driveline shop in Darwin a call, try these guys Cadillac Transport Repairs P/L in Winnellie, NT 0821 - Local Search
I haven't used them so don't know how you'll go.
Even though youre stuck id till go new, but you could try TRS in Adelaide for a second hand one, however, you will most likely end up in the same position sooner or later if it hasn't been rebuilt with greasable unis.

Any damage to your tranny? Check you don't have a whole in the side of the casing.

Good to hear you have a solution on the way. Suttons in Alice where great when I had the D2 fuel line leaks.

Sounds like you were pretty lucky with the damage considering it let go on teh move...as mentioned a few here ended up with well ventilated transmissions from these shafts.

    Like this?

Let go at 110kmh on the Hume. Had just got the three kids to sleep too about 10 mins prior….

Good to hear all getting sorted. Which guy in Darwin quoted $1400?

Sorry I didn't see this earlier.

My Disco is on stands while I find a little bit of time each day to get the sump off and change the oil pump bolt.

I would have taken out my front shaft and sent it to you as a lone to at least get you to Darwin.

Sounds like your half way sorted now.

    Happy Days

Wink Help is on the way

Guy in Darwin fo $1400 was from Darwin Landrover and he would have to get it from Sydney

Jeep connection had an after market one for around $650 but it would have come from melbourne.
I have put up a pic of shaft as you can see not a lot left of it, no real noise or racket till it let go which to me was a surprise

So in the end Sutton's Alice Springs came to the rescue!

Thats the important bit here chopper,,
the propshafts aren't greasable from the factory.
The standard shaft will fail at some point.
