x2. Fraser Island in a RRC... fill up at every chance
So I've been in contact with TD5inside and they have been very speedy in their response.
I need to purchase a Nanocom. However I can't work out how i'm going to achieve telling TD5inside what altercations i want made to my map. I've got no idea where to start. Can someone help me out with this?
All i know is i want to minimise the turbo lag and maximise the throttle response. I want to run 32" tires and and cart around a roof top tent. Upgrade the exhaust. I've heard little mods to the length of the waste gate lever helps?
I been led to believe (by others than TD5inside) it is not unreasonable to expect 50% increase in power 30-40% increase in torque and 15-20% improvement on fuel economy.
How do i achieve this through telling TD5inside what i want them to do to my map?
I asked for a stage 2 remap. That gave me 30% more torque and about equal fuel economy. I wouldn't touch turbo waste gate without boost gauge and until after remap and boost box, as the remap gave an additional 2psi.
Drive it, and if your not happy you can ask for adjustments. I've not had to do that as I see no smoke and power/economy is great.

Those numbers are complete fiction. Unless you start with a major problem of course.
Adding fuel without improving airflow through more boost will give more power along with dangerous egt and smoke.
If you want to improve performance safely then you need to start with air flow and only increase fuel to match. Sadly no outfit selling remaps will ever tell you this.
You pretty much have described what you want in this message.
Get yourself a Nanocom, fit an Exhaust Gas Temp gauge (as you will need to back off if EGT's get too high) and then start with a stage 2 remap and you will be able to feedback enough info to get the map from Td5inside adjusted if it is not performing as you want.
I wouldn't say complete fiction, exagerated maybe, particularly fuel economy, but there is huge potential. I measure EGT, boost and performance by a vbox. Its amazing what difference mapping alone can make. I do agree improved flow in and out should not be ignored.

To gain 50% in power or torque requires burning ~50% more fuel. To do that without increasing air supply means your A/F ratio just got ~50% richer.
If stock is around 20:1 at full load, then it's now at ~13.3:1 which is completely wrong for any diesel engine. It's even below stoich.
The most you can gain and stretch the truth by calling safe is about 20%. Even then it'll be hot and smokey. It just won't melt pistons straight away.
All of the numbers mentioned earlier are complete fiction.
