What about an EMS1 mounted to one of TURPS's right hand pillar mounts? It would then be right next to the instrument binnacle and in clear view, I guess the wires coming out of it might be messy?

Whoops I forgot to find the bracket. I did find a pic of where my madman does sit though.
I went here as its waste space. As I use the center of the dash to window mount an Ipad. It also made the wiring extremly simple.

    Madman EMS location.

And here's a dash pic from drivers view. On trips an iPad sits on the middle mount.

I have been facing the same dilemma. Not keen on the mud pod and thought that RHS of instruments would be a good spot.

It has got me thinking though. Could a 3D printer be able to make a housing that could be shaped to the dash contour,
or some sort of housing/binnacle that could be mounted to the A pillar trim?

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

This evening I'll find a pic of a car somewhere in the eastern bloc I believe that did something similar but for a long range tank fuel gauge. Looks okay.

Someone handy with fibre glass could make them, or a 3D printer.
