It's best to just not buy the Mag. It's always been inaccurate one-eyed poorly written rubbish. Their focus is on advertising, the content is just a nuisance for them.

I had an ML Triton they wanted to do an article on and a bit like Landys they are considered second-rate, despite the fact we'd take them out and run rings around Hiluxes, Patrols and Cruisers. I agreed to the article provided they let me go over the draft and make sure it was factually correct and unbiased (offered to write it for them if they were going to struggle).

Never heard from them again thankfully

Dropped my subscription as the content quality really dropped. Agree with the sentiment though. The bogans can drive and modify the Toyota / Missin 4WD to make them into something capable like a Landie.

    Hi Guys,

Yep.. that's my D2 and that's also me on the front - was not expecting a full page picture of myself there. I knew there was going to be some pics but not quite sure how I feel about the full pager!

Got to admit I'm a little disappointed with the article. Whilst I'm sure the gents at 4WDA might believe that it was a thinly veiled dig at LR owners, they didn't waste time on providing a clearly biased, cheap form of article writing of which I won't be providing any input for again if that is how they think to treat people they ask for content from. I was contacted by the editor to ask if I wanted to contribute after having my vehicle shot in 2013, I said sure as it was simply a bit of fun for me and (what I thought, clearly naively) might be a good chance to paint some decent light for the green oval in a LandTrol dominated magazine. Further, all they've managed to do here is alienate further their already ailing subscriber base by composing in such a way.

PS, didn't submit an invoice for the article, and nor will I be. Best to walk away....

In the 2 years I have owned my D2 , I have rarely if ever seen anyone post about turbo failure.

The turbos are a generic item anyway from Garrett or someone so any fault would be the same as any diesel. In any case turbo failure is usually about poor quality oil or neglected changes and a TD5 would be far better in that respect that the Japs as it has the centrifugal filter.

Yep, mine's done 276K and the turbo's as tight as a ticks butt. Not sure where they got that stat from...

Had I known it was going to be that bad, I wouldn't have either. Pretty disappointing.

Realistically, apart from a couple of clangers it wasn't that bad. We just have to remember that it is being written by someone who doesn't share our love for the green oval, nor the same kind of understanding.

Look at the bright side, it'll put the twonks off getting a Landy.

Amusingly somewhat... Brendan "Brenno" was a Land Rover owner, and a proud one at that when he first joined the magazine.

Had a nice and clean D1.

Back then, he would PM me for advice....

How the times have changed, hes' modified his appearance, his attitude and is a complete sell-out to marketing and the Japanese is best mentality.

What really bites me is his latest "editorial" comments in the front of the magazine... Hypocrisy at its finest...

The things we do to cement a job.

I wonder if he's actually taken that persona on or whether he does it to appeal to the Toyssan readers. Infotainment is what they sell.

What needs to happen is a Land rover biased magazine to be published that constantly lists the shortfalls and problems with toyota and nissan.
