The regulator is held in the original casting by a circlip.

(I've been able to confirm that the one from Spain is sourced from China)
It'll take a week to get here and I'll be fitting it with the o-rings that it comes with.
If it dies (or doesn't turn up), I'll post an update.
The one you just bought is also from China. see bottom of his ad.
Just make sure the Bar rating is the same as your TD5

    Doh! Good pick-up.
Lets hope that Bosch have established some meaningful quality control processes.

So my first attempt, I just replaced the metal gasket and the "o" ring on the head. Then went on a reasoable size trip, 4000km into the gulf. Massive fail. Diesel everywhere.

The third bolt is such "a dog of no definable type or breed". I don't know if the reg was leaking or the metal gasket was leaking due to the third bolt not being torqued correctly.

This time. No stuffing about. Off with the entire intake manifold made getting to the reg housing a peice of urine. Cost me $47 for a new intake manifold and I have to stuff about getting it back on but I know the Reg housing is done right.

    This is my old reg:

I bought this for $60 from Super Cheap Auto. $13 of that was freight becasue Darwin may not be a capital city or we are further away than China or Auspost can be defined as "an act of piercing something with a sharp point".

    They are indentical in size:

But the Bosch unit has a filter as part of the reg. It still fits perfectly:

    Happy Days.

Without knowing what the LR was myself. I've take advice from the internet. This regulator is reasonably widely recommended.

From others, it's 2 psi less than the LR reg. The thing is both regs will only maintain the pressure part the way through the rev range. Once the flow is as much as the pump can handle, the pressure falls. All this pressure does though is supply pressure to the injector pumps. So as long as there is positive pressure, all should work as required.

There is a few post around the net of others that have had no ill infects.

    Happy Days.

They'd be $47 from Super Cheap if you don't live in Darwin.
