    the usual suspects,
    engine and gearbox.

as usual the worst part is finding a suitable hole in the firewall.

So what happens if they overheat at night and you have illumination turned off, a buzzer ?
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

    at night?
    who tows at night?

I am only expecting failures(thats not how its supposed to sound--) to occur while under stress, ie: towing the van. The good thing about having the switch just there is I can flash it on and off and get an instant reading

I got mine second hand from Outback1. It is defiantly possible that is where my winch switch is mounted on my D2a. I've also got extra binnacle switches to turn on spot lights.

    Thanks Jazzman,,
whats more, because the readouts use so little power I might just borrow some from the next switch along

Does the lume normally run to the BCU? I suppose if the switch has internal contacts and can carry more than a tiny current then you could run the circuit through it like a 'normal' switch?

    Cheers

follow the bonnet release cable and you'll find a grommet where it goes to the engine bay, push one side of thicker steely wire through that grommet near the cable(i used a straightened wire coat hanger), hook the sensor wires to it with duct tape and pull them in, you can easily route the wires from there up to the dash beneath the instrument pack

I have a D2a, in that model the fuel flap release is up on the binnacle leaving that space blank.
can you buy a single push switch like the other 5?

I used HDC and Hazard light switches I got off ebay for around $10ea. They are easy enough to wire up and have it so the LED inside them works.

My car just looks hazardous because it has multiple hazard switches
