After thinking about it you might be onto something with the satin thing. I'll be doing my trailer wheels soon so I'll give satin black a go and see what they look like.

Sweet thanks. I was toying with Bonati grey like my truck but i think in the end satin black would look better and match bar, sliders, ladder etc.

Gottcha. I am going off the idea. I have seen a few grey D2's in Google images with satin black, matt black, and also grey. I think the dark colours need silver.

OK, so this will be fun. I bought some LR 16 inch rims that are the claw variety - early D2 here and I think all models in ZA. I like them - they are more like the D1 ROH 16 inch wheels.

I have also just bought for a bargain price 5 new OEM black and silver (RRS style) LR centrecaps. My plan is to paint my wheels either black satin with these centre caps and leave the wheel nuts original silver or Bonati Grey like the truck and then black centre caps and silver nuts.

I found a pic of a D2 with different wheels to mine, but painted the same colour as the car - grey.

What's people's thoughts about the 2 colour schemes proposed? My truck has black ladder, black roof rails and basket, black bull bar, black sliders and black spot lights.

    Cheers

here is another of my d2's , ozscott , don't have a grey one to show you though..........yet, wheels painted satin but a bit dirty atm, those cheap centre caps have lasted for 3 years so far no flaking , neither has the paint. I think the grey rims look good as well.
